We hope you will join us in worship tomorrow and hear Tom's sermon, "SOLDIERS OF THE CROSS" taken from2 Tim 2:3-4.
"Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs-- he wants to please his commanding officer."
Writing his final letter, while facing execution, Paul was not defeated. He had not abandoned the faith. His final instruction was given to his son in the faith, Timothy. Paul longed for Timothy to follow his lead and remain steadfast in the faith.
When the day of Jesus’ return comes the saints who have endured to the end will be present in the shining armies of God but that will not be the highlight of the day for those who have been faithful. What will be the most important thing to those in the armies of the Lord of heavens hosts? It will be the same as it always has been … THE GLORY OF GOD!
What makes a good soldier? A good soldier will never quit marching! The trial of your faith is more precious than gold." HOWEVER, not all soldiers keep marching, some turn and run, and others just quit. Only when one obeys the rules will they be a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
There’s a war going on, and the devil is leading the charge. When the battle is over, whose side will you be on? Where do you want to spend eternal life?
Start your day tomorrow in church. If you think you can fight this war alone and win.....your WRONG. Come be with other solders who are fighting battles, hear God's word and sing praises to Him. We all need regular faith tune-ups and that is done in church.
