The suspect wanted in this morning’s theft of a pickup truck and handgun from exit 29 has turned himself in to authorities.
Matthew Allen Barr, age 26, from 752 Henery Street, Marion VA, turned himself in to authorities at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon shortly after noon today. Barr was wanted in connection with the theft which occurred at a gas station at exit 29 around 2:00 AM today. Barr was charged with two felony grand larceny warrants, one for the theft of the vehicle and one for theft of a firearm, he was released on a $5,000 unsecure bond.
