The Washington County VA Sheriffs Office again participated in No...

The Washington County VA Sheriff’s Office again participated in No Shave November this year. According to Washington County Sheriff, Fred Newman, 41 members of the Sheriff’s Office participated in the event.
As a result of the participation of the Sheriff’s Office members, citizens and local business donations to No Shave November, the Sheriff’s Office was able to make a donation of $3,066 to St. Jude’s Hospital.
St. Jude is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago.
