Chester & his littermate, Chiquita, were adopted by a very nice couple in 2009/10. Unfortunately, bad things have happened to the family & the two cats were returned to ADL after 9.5 years of a having a good home. It would be ideal for these siblings to stay together, but they aren't fast friends, if it should turn out that they can't stay together. For some unfathomable reason, black cats are not the most popular shade in the feline kingdom, but make no mistake that they ARE wonderful companions, & we find them to be just great cats!
Both are UTD on rabies vaccinations & need a better home life for the rest of their life.
But even if you are not in a position to adopt, though, you could alternately choose to sponsor the care of Chester, or any other ADL cat that strikes your fancy! Please check them out at www.petfinder.com/search/pets-...
, and decide to give from the heart. ANY amount helps, if a full sponsorship isn't possible!! 😻🐾

About Animal Defense League of Washington County, Inc.:

Adoptable cats can be seen at PetSmart, exit 7 in Bristol or on our Petfinder site - www.petfinder.com/pet-search?s.... Volunteers always welcomed! The Animal Defense League of Washington County was established in 1982 by 8 concerned members of the community. They rallied to have the current shelter built (the CC Porter Animal Shelter was dedicated in 1986) and made great strides toward animal welfare in this county. By 1995 the group had become fairly inactive, but still sponsored yard sales to help spay and neuter animals in the community and pay for emergency surgery for those in need. In November of 1999 a public meeting was held and the ADL was reinstated. The main objective of the ADL is to raise awareness of pet overpopulation and to highly encourage and assist in providing spay/neuter surgeries to the animals in our region. We also offer assistance to those caring for feral cat colonies. Every animal that is sterilized has the potential of preventing thousands of births over a period of several years. Not only are there health and behavioral benefits of sterilizing your pets, but it is the only solution to pet overpopulation and the end of euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals. Provide resources to help locals get their pets spayed/neutered, thereby lessening needless euthanasia caused by preventable overpopulation.

I have had 4 black cats in my life. Loved them. They like to stay near and are quiet.
