What is true love? How do you give and receive...

What is true love? How do you give and receive love? What do you do when your betrayed? If you look for a list of great love stories, you’ll find Romeo and Juliet, Anthony and Cleopatra, Heathcliff and Catherine, Rhett and Scarlet … What you WON’T find on the list of great love stories is … Hosea and Gomer. But their love story is in some ways is the greatest … and certainly most unique … love story of all.
As Valentine's Day approaches Tom's sermon tomorrow, “A LOVE STORY" will be taken from the Book of HOSEA.
This Love story can read like a scandalous romance but this powerful message shows how far we will run away from God and how far he will come to save us. The story of Hosea and Gomer illustrates how Israel became unfaithful to God which produced a divorce. But eventually God told Hosea to take his wife back and to love her as he had done when they were first married. We have all been unfaithful to God. Sin has forced a separation. But Jesus came to our rescue. He paid the price of our redemption on the cross.
Our Christian life is not to be confined to a closet. Our belief must be revealed in our practice. If we walk in Christ, then we must act as Christ would act because Christ is in us-our hopes, our love, our joy and our lives. We are Christ's reflection.
So what are we supposed to do if God calls us to do something that doesn’t make a lick of sense? Trust in God.
Has your relationship with God weakened, you find excuses to miss church, your prayer time is less and farther in between, you find a reason to put the world before God? Who left the relationship....God or You? God has never left you and has always and will forever want a relationship with you. Just look around at the many blessings of your life....do you see his love for you? Come join us tomorrow....Sunday school is at 10:00 a.m. and worship is at 11:00 a.m.
