The Town of Abingdon has been welcoming visitors for over 200 years. Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Highlands of Virginia, Abingdon encompasses historical sites and attractions, cultural events, outdoor recreation and world class art venues. We are home to Barter Theatre, the State Theatre of Virginia and one of the longest running professional theatres in the nation. This live theatre produces between 17-19 shows per year on two unique stages.
