Follow Me! One of the leading Virginian officers of the Revolution was William Campbell. Born in 1745, William quickly established himself as a military officer in the fighting against the Shawnee Indians on the western frontier, serving as a captain in Lord Dunmore’s War in 1774. Campbell took a leading role once the Revolution heated up, forming men into rifle companies and signing the Fincastle Resolutions in 1775. followmefridays! findyourway trails50 WC
